The Radio Equipment Directive (RED) (2014/53/EU) is a mandatory regulatory framework for all radio equipment sold in the European Union. It ensures devices meet essential requirements for safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and efficient use of the radio spectrum. From August 2025, RED will also mandate cybersecurity compliance under Article 3.3(d), (e), and (f). If your product is not RED-compliant, it cannot be legally sold in the EU, exposing you to serious legal and financial risks.

Failing to comply with RED means:

  • Market access denial: Your product cannot be legally sold in the EU.

  • Product recalls and bans: Authorities can force product withdrawals, leading to financial losses.

  • Severe legal consequences: Non-compliance can result in fines, lawsuits, and reputational damage.

  • Increased cybersecurity scrutiny: From 2025, stricter cybersecurity requirements will apply. If you don’t act now, your product may not be compliant in time.

Ensuring compliance now avoids costly disruptions and keeps your business ahead of regulatory changes. Don't wait—get your product tested today.

The Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure (PSTI) Act is the UK’s cybersecurity regulation for consumer IoT devices, coming into force on April 29, 2024. It mandates essential security measures, such as banning default passwords, providing clear vulnerability disclosure policies, and ensuring transparency on security updates. Non-compliance means your product may be removed from the UK market, and you could face hefty fines of up to £10 million or 4% of global turnover.
